sand in steering linkage

Anybody who raced in the mid east regional at grantham knows it was wet and very sandy. By the end of my final I noticed my steering wasn't working as it should and thought the rain had taken out my servo. Having checked it over there is half a beach worth of sand in the steering channel that grates and binds when trying to steer. Anybody else end up like this after yesterday?
