Not many people become a legend in their own lifetime, and yet retain the humility and touch to communicate with everyone they meet. Most everything else everyone has already said - pioneer, gentleman, honorable, knowledgable, open, honest.
When I took over from Mike as IFMAR Electric Chairman, I asked in my first closing speech for people to show their appreciation for his years of service to IFMAR. Mike got a five-minute standing ovation - that was how highly people regarded him. He did more to help me than I ever managed to repay, so like many others, today is a sad day for me too.
Rest in peace, Mike.
