Default Can a Bosscat handle brushless?

Hi all
I am getting back into Club racing after a 20 year absence
I am considering running my Bosscat but don't really know if it can handle the power of brushless or if i run my vantage 12x2 brushed motor with 5000mah batteries, am i going to get left behind?, would like to be reasonably competitive
Also can the Bosscat compete these days or am i going to get embarrassed on the track? i am planning on racing at the Herts rc car club in Watford which is a astro turf track, i don't have a huge budget & i am not going to race nationally
If i have to get another car which would mean selling my beloved Bosscat i would be looking at a second hand 1, maybe a cat sx 1 or Kyosho lazer zx5, i have heard the B44 is a good car to pick up second hand but have never had a associated car before, only schumacher, kyosho & in my young days tamiya
My local model shops stock schumacher, kyosho & associated so it would make sense parts wise to go for 1 of these
Would be very interested in hearing your views on this
In 20 years i have gone from the A finals to being a newbie again so be gentle with me
Cheers everyone
