carbon fibre front damper stay

Hi

I'm rebuilding my X5.

I've got a carbon fibre front damper stay support and forgotten if it goes behind or in front of the original (XX-4?) damper?

Can someone help on installing this bit?!

If this sound confusing, I can send some pics.
