lrp sxx version 2 problems

hi all,have got a lrp sxx version 2 the 2wd spec one with no heatsink or fan,has been giving me problems in my last 2 finals.
the esc is set at number 1 feel the boost function is disabled and drag brake 4,its in a new b4.1 with gearing 81 spur and 22 pinion and im running an x12 10.5 stock spec motor.
the motor has been coming of pretty hot at nearly 80 degrees and esc at around 50 degrees this is on smaller tight indoor tracks at chadderton motor and esc temp ok.
what is happening ive made mistakes on 2 occasions where my car has got stuck and have tried to blip the throttle to get me back on the track this is when the esc cuts i then have to switch off then back on again and its fine,i had the older sxx with the heatsink and fan never gave me no problems but this new sxx version 2 2wd is ruining my races,much appreciated if anyone can shed any light on this.thanks
