Default Noob advice on a 2wd buggy

Hi guys & girls,
I've been hanging around the forum for a little while now but this is my first post.
In the past I've owned a Hyper 7, RC8 and an RC8b which I used to use at CMCC, I've never raced but used to put in some good practice hours on the track.
Now after a little while away I've decided I'd like to try 1/10th 2wd as I feel it will help my driving skills and get me racing.
There seems to be alot of choice and options available and this is where your help and expertise comes in!!
The options I have are to either buy and RTR such as the b4 brushless rtr, to buy second and put a decent spec kit together or blow the budget on new gear!
If I buy the rtr over time I'll probably spend the same again upgrading it to FT spec.
If I buy second hand gear I'll probably get alot more for my money but I dont know what to buy.
And if I buy new and blow the budget is it too much for a noob?
I really like the look of the TLR22 although the saddle packs in the mid mount config puts me off, I also like the Cougar sv and the B4FT although I know this is popular it seems a little dated now in comparison to the other 2?
As you can see I dont really know so your opinions and advice are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Ben
