Default ESSENTIAL ITEM? - lipo ready servos

Hi guys,

Im having trouble finding enough info about this.

Savox have jsut brought out their new range of "lipo ready" servos (the SC1268MG) but I am confused as to the necessity of these.

Do we really need to be worried about using non-lipo servos in our cars?
I dont know a huge amount about electronics, but surely the jump from 7.2v NiXX to 7.4V Lipo isnt enough to seriously damage the servo?

Savox claim that with these new servos, you no longer need a "voltage regulator" between your reciever and servo but I have not seen anyone use one of these anyways.

Your thoughts and opinions would be, as always, greatly appreciated.

(And a chocolate coated Easter bunny for the best reply!!)

Andrew
