Spektrum sr3000 queries

Hi

I've just purchased 2 second-hand sr3000s.

The top antenna wire has gone.

I'm assuming that I can just solder some wire in place? Have other people experienced the same problem.

Also can I bind the receiver with a non-spektrum transmitter? How successful is this?
