Default Old ACOMS transmitter maintenance/repair

Hi all,

I use an old ACOMS Techniplus V transmitter. I tried to switch to a Futaba 3GR a while back, but I couldn't get used to the very light springs in comparison to the heavy ones on my ACOMS. Only problem is, I'm starting to have trouble centering the steering: if I push the steering all the way to left and return to center, the wheels still point left a bit. If I push it all the way to the right and return, they point right a bit.

I'm assuming this is the fault of my transmitter - the steering servo isn't super-new but it is competent and metal geared - a HiTec HS-925mg. Does anybody have any tips on how to fix this issue? Failing that, can anybody recommend me a stick transmitter with nice stiff springs?
