A quick Pred question

Hi guys, i am getting back into the sport after a very long time away and am thinking long and hard about getting a Pred, i am leaning toward the X10, is this still a viable option, ie performance, spares etc. Also, how "hard" a car is it for a novice to own,thanks for any advice, Chris.
