2wd mid or rear motor

As the title says whats the best set up for dirt mid motor or rear mounted motor, tracks not groomed or smooth its normally bumpy with a nice layer of fine dirt sitting on the top, if you can get through the dusty layer it is quite hard packed underneath, a few jumps nothing major and quite rough rutted all over.
