best 1/8th chassis?

been looking at second hand nitro cars in view to turning one into a brushless.

i see plenty of hyper 7's cheap on the bay and a few xray's . also the ve8 looks like a bargin atm.

jnot really had any experiance to 1/8th (i have a pred x10 with a 4.5 brushless in it and also a 1/5th hormann)

are mugen that much better than all the others? (seem to find alot of threads on the web saying they are probably the best cars out there)
