diff oil - motor temp link?

If I run a heavier diff oil, say 10,000, would it lead to higher motor temps? I would think it would and I have a feeling that's what's happening to mine but at the same time some of the drivers in hotter countries than mine are running heavier oils. I've got no idea anymore.
