new nitro racer

Hi
I'm new to racing nitro. I have been racing elec buggies and 12th for a while. I have just found a local club racing 1/8th scale nitro buggies. i want to get involved but don't have a huge budget. I have been down to the club on race night and asked around. Most have said a good starting point would be a Hyper 7 RTR or a HPI Trophy 3.5 RTR

Any advice would be good??
