Depends on the type of titanium used, but as a general rule titanium is soft, and unsuitable as a material for pinions as it does not like being a bearing surface.
Modern aerospace titanium is harder and stronger than the stuff we use, but it is not yet commercially available at a price we could afford to make parts from.
I'd also like to support those who are recommending Jon Guest. I have no idea if the old management are involved in this new venture, but I have always found Jon as good as his word, and very hardworking - he organised the Seniors event a couple of years back and it was excellent.
