Default why are some people like this

as some of you know 2 of our kids are disabled.

they have learning dificulties as well as other problems, today we were out with the 2 youngest, and our 3 year old who has a mental age of 1 fell over, she also has hypermobily syndrome, so when she falls over her joints swell up badly.

when she fell her knee and ankle swelled up, now we know the best thing to do is leave her alone and the swelling will go down in a day or two, (it's not ideal, but that's what it takes). however we were at a local tourist attraction that was quite busy.

when she fell she cried very loudly, becouse she can only say a few words this is how she communicates that something is wrong. as you can imagine she drew a bit of attention.

i picked her up, looked at her knee and ankle, and found she was ok except for the swelling, so i picked her up and started to carry her.

this is where the problems start, 2 people who had seen what happened came up to us and said we were bad parents, and should call an ambulance.

we explained that she is dissabled and that we just needed to leave her to rest.

the man then said "well she don't look like a spaz dissabled kid to me", we tried to explain that not all dissabled people look dissabled, they just kept shouting and calling us bad parents.

while this was happening someone else had fetched a ranger who works in the park, he also failed to understand that we know what was best for our daughter, when we said we were leaving he told us he would call the police if we didn't let him call an ambulance.

i told him to go ahead and call the police, and he actually did.

this is where the story gets fun, when the police attended, they were told that we had refused treatment, were bad parents ect...

the police then came to talk to us, when we explained about our daughter been dissabled and her condition, to our shock one of the cops said his kid suffers fron the same thing, he told us he's had similar problems when his kid injured himself.

he then proceded to tell the people that had gathered round that we were not bad parents, but parents of a diagnosed dissabled child, and that we know whats best for her.

he also told the man that called our daughter a "spaz" that he would be arrested if he ever called anyone that again

sorry for the long rant but i'm still angry
