Stick Tension!!

Has anyone any idea how you alter the tension on the stick springs in the Futaba P-CB3GR Transmitter? There are no screw's or anything inside to alter it so the only thing i can think of is chopping the springs down (trying to avoid if pos)

Or is it possible to buy shorter/stiffer springs?

Any help would be appreciated
