Default LiPo's - Tight under Pulley

Hello,

Tried installing my Bionic 5000mAh LiPo's in to a Cat SX and they are just about in contact with the pulley and the belt is going to drag all over them.

Has anyone come up with a mod to allow for slightly larger LiPo's? Thought about shimming the front and rear bulkheads to raise the pulley / lower the chassis. Shims would be about 1.5mm and fit between the bulkheads and the chassis. I have some concerns over doing this particularly for the front bulkhead as there seems to be a need for part of the bulkhead to step around the front edge of the chassis and there are also 2 rectangular cut-outs which also locate / align the bulkhead. Shimming will reduce this location and also reduce the groung clearance by the shim thickness.

The other thing i have noted is that the Bionic LiPo will be in contact with the front belt and this looks like it will need more than 1.5mm shim to clear. If i sit the battery further out from the centreline to clear the belt it won't fit in the under tray and it will still shift inboard if i get a shunt on the track.

Any other ideas would be welcome.

Lastly, i've just got back into RC after a lengthy 'baby break' and i'm stunned by how good LiPo's are but utterly frustrated by the fact that no 2 manufacturers LiPo's are the same size. Standardisation should be called for by BRCA and others.
