Just thought I would ask here as I am sure there are a few green laners here! I am thinking of getting a cheap 4X4. Narrowed it down to Discovery, but have seen a Frontera on a garage forecourt. Now before you laugh, it is fully off-road equipped so not as gay as a normal one. Lifted, mud tyres, guards, snorkel, spots, its got everything I want, and is cheap enough, but....... Its got a chavalier engine. the 2l 8v C20NE one. Ive had plenty of chavaliers and calibras with the same engine and its been ok.....(if you get used to ignoring the bloody orange warning light)but wondered if anyone has tried one offroad to see if it's any good compared to the diesel 2.5 disco. I know the disco will be better all round, but this is fully equipped for pennies, so if its even half as good I am gonna consider it.
