Can i use shock oil in diffs?

I think i know the answer is no, but i'm new to nitro and went to my local model shop for some diff oil for my Hyper 7TQ Black Edition and when i returned home i realised they had sold me shock oil. When i phoned the shop i was told it would be ok to use the shock oil in the diffs. I only use the car for bashing at the moment, i bought 2000, 5000 and 7000wt silicone oil. Can anyone please advise me if i can use this oil?
