acoms 2.4ghz receiver wire

hi guys ive got a acom 2.4ghz radio set i bought from some guy off of here and only recently startd using it.

the problem ive noticed is that the range on it is crap so ive compared the wire length with my mates who has same radio and is like 6cms shorter.

the question is can standard receiver wire be used with these or is it different wire?

can any1 help id be very greatfull!
