So I picked up one of
these (for better or for worse) and the -ve and +ve output leads go to a male Deans as you'd expect but the black wire goes to the +ve side of the Deans and the red wire to the -ve

You can actually just make it out on the last photo on the link above, have a close look at the male Deans and then the wire colours.
Indeed I find this so odd that I'm questioning myself hence the post...
What have I got wrong or what's the logic behing this?
NB: All of the mating female connectors in the pack use this apparent "reverse Deans" setup.
