Default Associated springs on BMAX Champions pack shocks

I've put some Associated Blue springs on my BMAX (Champions pack shocks) with the shock retainers off my B4 (as the Yokomo shock retainers do not allow the Associated springs to sit correctly on them).

I've noticed that the springs rub a little bit on the shock body/threads due to them being a smaller diameter to the Yokomo springs, will this cause a problem performance wise and is there any way around this ?

Any help would be appreciated
