New Radio Setup

I am just starting out in RC cars and fitting out my b4. Can anyone suggest a good radio and receiver?

I am unsure if to go down the 2.4 ghz route (may be something like this http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/ite...dio-Set__50fa/ ) or keep it cheaper and look at something like a 2 Channel - 27Mhz set or even something in the middle say at 40Mhz (although can't find many of these for sale).

I don't really want to spend too much but if I can see the benefits of more pricer equipment I would be prepared to pay more.
