Bantam bc6 problem

Ive been charging my mimh cells , and recently when ive been charging the cells all of a sudden the charger will go off then on an then off , this will continue until you unplug it.
Its hampering my charging so its an issue.
Should i contact where i purchased it from or can anyone shine a light on the problem?
