Xcelorin no response??

Just went to install the latest firmware onto my mates speedo and i cant seem to get any response from the esc? ive uninstalled the old steup program and installed the newer one, also tried a different reciever cable and cant get anything, the esc is lighting up, the fan turns on and usb cable is ok but just dont seem to get anything? its doing my head in now so any ideas?
