Good car for a beginner/improver?

A friend of mine has been running my spare car for a few weeks. She is really enjoying her racing and improving fast. She is now looking at buying her first car. I think it would be good for her to get a new kit first and learn about cars properly rather than eBaying a 2nd hand car. The car she has been running is a Losi XXX-S E-Racer and I was thinking something similar spec and hopefully similar in price and performance, eg front and rear diff's, full bearings ect. Given that the E-racer and Tamiya TA-05R are discontinued and the Xray T2R is a bit pricey I was wondering if anyone on here had any good ideas.
