X-60 Truck thoughts

I was thinking about the X-60 and though i dont have one, i was thinking about it and wanted to put my thoughts out there and see what people reckon.

2 Gear Gearbox. Just thinking if its possible instead of adding another idler gear to make it a 4 gear, is it possible to drop the idlers all together and run the mainshaft and diff only, or my other thought was to use a belt drive like the hpi rs4 mt electric that had a short belt to the rear diff from the mainshaft and a inboard rear mounted motor

Saddles atomic carbon style: Anyone have any thoughts on running the battery in the saddle configuration like an atomic carbon, rather than in a stick accross the chassis? the weight would end up marginally more forward and a little more central down the line of the chassis, maybe with the low weight of lipos there wouldnt be much difference
