rc newbie advice needed

Im new to rc cars and have been looking for a car for my son to bash and use to join a local club.Ive ordered the standard Bmax4, could someone advise on what type of motor to use brushed to start with.
Also where is the best place to get hold of saddle nimh battery packs?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have also just bought a new acoms 2.4ghz wheel radio system with was on offer for 50.00 are these suitable.
