Default Setting DB-01 slipper and diffs

How do you guys do it? From what I know, without the slipper in place, the only thing that can slip are diffs, so I grab 3 wheels and turn one (2 elbows, 2 hands) and if it slips, either the front or rear diff is slipping and then I check both and do a bit of guess/detectivework until they're both tight enough.

With the slipper in place, if I do the trick above, and I see the centre layshaft and nut turning, the slipper is slipping before either diffs and I should be fine. If the layshaft is not turning but something is slipping, I have to check both front and rears again.

I don't have a front one-way but it should be the same way to check the rear diffs with it installed.

Am I doing it right or did I miss something? Is there an easier way?
