Sponsorship Question

This might be a noob question but here goes ...........

Having read Jimmy and Vickys report on the Euros, ive seen that although Neil Cragg is sponsored by Associated and therefore runs a B4, he races Yokomo in 4wd

How come he doesnt use the B44 ? How do these "team" drives work ?

I cant imagine that Lewis Hamilton would hop out of his McLaren and into a Williams etc
