Some of the blokes that I work with like the work but not for to long. 6 weeks is about max for some 10 at the most before a shore break. Long 12 hour or more days ( cos you can really packup and go home) and there are only so many movies and beers you can cope with each night !
Oh and the money is good ! Norway is cold though isnt it ?? Some of the guys do the oil pipelines in saudi and all those other countrys owned by that man "STAN" . Middle of desert ! Armed guards ! 50 degrees ! Most come back 2 stone lighter after a month ! Hey theres a thought ! if I went for a year id get down to the proper weight for 6ft 3.

The platforms are dry, no drink
Your right it is no fun and after 2 weeks on one you are like a zombie, shifta are usually 7-7 and sometimes a swap between days and nights for week 2.
The medical and survival training were brilliant i loved it but i did mine in blackpool and got wankered most nights which probably helped. The helicopter in a pool thing was cool but hard work, you get dunked 6 times and sometimes it rolls over and you have to manage to get out of the small windows which is not easy in a survival suit.
Its all good fun though but deep down you know if the chopper goes down your a gonner
