The problem with a only RC10 class with no-mod rules is that people might get bored, specially now that brushless motors dont even need maintainance. At least back in the day you had to have the com in great shape, play with spring tension, etc, etc...
But for true competitiveness the idea, in theory works.
That's all I'm saying - leave the door open, that way guys with original cars they've modified back in the day, or chaps that get the re-re but can't stand to leave it alone, all have a place they feel welcome. If there's enough entries to separate classes, stock and mod, so be it. Just don't shut the door before any of them have a chance to gain a foothold, by saying "no." Running off racers is never good.
You want to limit them, limit the motors to something more typical of what came in them back in the day, like a 21.5.

I'm really happy that there doing the re-re and have been tempted to get one and race. Problem I have is I would want to do the same mods I did back then. So the thought of racing a kit standard model, the same as everyone else's, doesn't really appeal to me and would soon get bored.

I'm not saying we run the later mods that the car ended its career with, but perhaps some of the more early changes. Have a Andy's wide bumper and teflon spur gear on my bench

Having raced vintage, I have to sy there was such a difference in performance. This isn't on one make series, this is a one make class! Run your normal car if you want also - the idea is fun. Possibly 21.5t motors zero mods same 32dp pinion for everyone. Re the motors, I might get some made for the class so again, all the same. Super close racing, and you simply dont need to go at ballistic speeds to have FUN.

I personally think it could be great, I'll push it like mad and if a season of races doesn't get people enthused then at least I tried
