Agreed, brilliant day smoothly run, track was awesome, venue was perfect, lots of help from more experienced drivers and I also managed to not bend my c4.1 despite some grim technique over the big jump

First visit to a silverstone event and will definitely be making the journey more often.

I think so!
I think Paul and I are planning to build track in afternoon (with help please) then start our normal meeting early around 16.00, run a full meeting and home for around 22.30 as usual.
Let me know if you're interested and if enough of you are we may put jumps out etc...

Hi mate, on the size we'll be running I'd use a 6.5, however other may say different.
It will be 2wd sat and 4wd sun..

Thanks simon
No worries, yellow mini pins not spikes for me. Some do use spikes cause they're easy to drive, however definitely slower.

Firstly I would say that I loved the day but not the 4am alarm in order to get there for 7!! I was struggling by lunchtime to focus for 5mins (actually more like 1 mins .. lol)

Track was really good, surface was a bit of a suprise (less grippy than expected) but made for good racing. Loved the slippy section, thought the layout flowed well and generally it was a great track. Wish I had been running the Lazer as I bet it was a blast with 4wd!

Can I give you a couple of observations?

1) I think that the rostrum height Vs the hieght of the table top jump made it really hard for us shorties to see over a marshals in that area and quite often I was completely blocked from seeing my car over that whole side of the track. The feature was good and I am sure that if I was 6' plus it wouldn't have been an issue.
I know Adam had the same issue. Any way of lifting the rostrum another couple of feet?

2) I struggled to hear the call at the end of the race over the noise of the cars circulating, volume was fine at the starts though.

Looking forward to the main event now (especially with 4wd)

Thank you for feedback, Roger.

We hope to double the height of the rostrum and will hopefully have clarification of that tomorrow night so I'll let you know the score.
The feature was our first attempt and we will try to follow all the helpful tips that were suggested throughout the day.
I wish you would've said about comp volume mate as we had about another 300 watts to play with. We will have a designated monitor on the rostrum for all future large event.

Cheers, Matt

Matt, for a "first attempt" I'd be well proud of your club. I'd be back every Tuesday if it was even half the distance form me it is!
