Just got my 502 and was reading lee's set-up sheets he mentions 400w shock oil am i reading that right that seems really hi for shocks i always thought it was in double figures like 30 or 35 etc ?

thats probably tamiyas equivalent to 40w oil rob,kyosho do something similar their 350w is 35w.

cheers matt. ummm what you doing in here lol are you a secret tamiya fan lol. was down at the track today starting to look something like a track looks smaller but hard to tell yet.

The "400" oil Tamiya is referring to is rated in 'cSt' or centistokes. It is a measurement of viscosity instead of weight.. Unfortunately cSt does not directly translate to a weight equivalent.. In other words, 400cST oil is not equal to 40WT oil. It is actually just a tad over 30WT.

top man thanks for the help. now im going to have to change my oil again lol. oh well i need practice building shocks i always seem to do one a bit different to the other lol

the oils lee used there were mr33 oils and these are measured in cst.
If you can find an old losi oil bottle, it has both cst and std weights marked on the front of it ![]() Hope this helps

just been reading through the confusing instructions for the general shock build and noticed that it shows to plastic spacers part code w2 and k2. now when i bought my car (second hand) it has the GHEA 2 hole tapered pistons but when i rebuilt them i couldnt find these plastic spacers in mine what are they for ?
