Default Stagger Ribs - no inserts?

I've heard many people say not to inserts with stagger ribs.

Is this for all surfaces? Can anyone comment as to why?

I've fitted some up to some B2 wheels (same width as trimmed B4 front wheels), and the side wall seems to bulge a bit, tyre doesn't seem to have any real support. Do they not just squirm around a bit without inserts?

I've not tried them yet, just thought I'd ask before I glue them!

I run mine without foams and yes they doo bulge over the
edge of the rim abit but thats how they are.

I dont think you need foams as they create just the right amount of grip
without them. With foams i find them too firm and loose the edge much faster.
