I think it's pre 1990 only.

Pro is from '89 and the Boss was allowed in as it was the last round. I think Northy will be able to clarify the posistion.

Have any more vintage dates been added to the york calendar?

Would seem a good idea to have a vintage heat at all the non-championship club nights.

The rules did originally state that all cars running had to have been available in 1989 or before (ie the car could be from 92 if the same model was available in 89) I know nothing about vintage cars, so could not say about the Laser. Having said that, is the series not finished now? Anyone know who won?

I think relaxing the rules on the age of the car would allow some quality additions to the line up and allow more people to compete.

At the risk of being a miserable git, we can't have it too new, the idea was to race proper old skool cars and super slow motors.

Next year we may up the motor limit for some more speed, perhaps a slight relax on rules, not 10 years though as xx4 is easy inside that as is xxx i think

I just wish I was nearer, would love to give some of my collection a run out.

Hard to allow the Lazer in as it covers a grey area. Technically as the ZX was available in Nov/Dec 1989 it should be allowed, but how do you stop someone passing off a ZX-RR (1996!) as a ZX with hop ups. You would have to ensure it is to ZX spec, with short shocks and no slipper.

Pre-1990 is a good cut off, mid 80s cars aren't disadvantaged and it gives a wide selection of cars. Relaxing it a year or two will allow Bosscats, Lazers, etc. which probably isn't so bad but still a performance increase over the older cars. But making the cut off at 1992 includes the Losi XX, Top Force and Lazer ZX-R, making it 1993 includes Cougar 2000, Cat 2000 and Predator.

I was interested in racing at the Southport vintage meeting they had a couple of years ago, until they changed the rules to allow all cars pre 1995 - can't exactly compete with an Optima against a Works 93 or pred.
