Default Rebel xti?

Is the Rebel XTi just a renamed 400D?

Seen a few on (cough)ebay(cough) and they are all from the states, but they seem to have realy good packages at a pretty good price.

Would I be right in assuming this?

Got some money burning a hole in me pocket and I thought I'd invest in a 'decent' camera and I don't mind spending a bit on it. I know to get GOOD pics you need to throw money at it.

The S9600 is ok, but it just can't get the 'f' down to anything less than 4.5 in appeture mode. And the noise is rediculous on High ISO's. Fuji say that it has reduce noise......I'd hate to see it without the redued noise!

Photography is something I was intrested in about 10yr ago and I had a pretty good olympus camera (don't know where it is now though)and used to go to regular club races at silverstone and mallory etc. and I'm getting the bug for it again!

http://www.telsshells.com/teesside_regional.htm some pics I took at teesside...the light was pretty good.

Sorry can't help with the question, but yeah, you seemed to be enjoying taking pics at Teeside. There was you, me and Stu at one point!

The Rebel XTi is the USA version of the 400D, but it would not have the European warranty on it, so if you have a problem Canon UK would not be interested. See here - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos400d/

Got my 400D off the Canon outlet store on ebay, very happy with it so far, not had chance to take it outdoors yet. But the indoors stuff has been fine.
