Took my car out for its first meeting for ages..first with new excelerion. Was set in the modified mode on the pre sets, no pc or card just the fast mode with 100% throttle and loads of drag brake.
Still p'd off as i cannot race this weekend.

On a positive note DMS were great, lets hope there is a quick turn around at other end!!
Still wondering about the rx/tx. Shall i get a cheap replacement...acoms or futaba jobby..or save for a gemini 2 or pricier futaba?

it could be what i mentioned earlier, that the speedo cuts out on maximum throttle mode (as says in the manual). It's what i had happening to me at the national last weekend

The main reason your brakes will feel soft, is if you have detuned the motor by turning the timing down on the speedo, but not compensated for it by increasing the braking %.

Here are my settings:
Throttle Limit %: 0
Rvs Throttle Limit %: 100
Motor Timing: Normal
Initial Acceleration: Medium
Braking %: 30
Drag Brake %: 30
Neutral Deadband: 3

Also make sure you have downloaded the latest firmware for your speedo, free from the Losi website.
