Default vortex shell

Big thanx to dms - got my vortex shell- havent cut it yet but have 'tried' it over the chassis on its own with the speedo in. Looks like plenty of room!
Just about get that senser wire in, capacitor will have to sit nearest the rear though. Wil post pic when its finished- got a spider web mask which will be cool!
Just got to solder those bloo*y losi connectors. Doesnt help having sausage fingers!

Well I have just installed the software on my laptop I wasnt going to bother as I am a bit of a tecnofobe but I am glad I did it is so easy to do and the settings on there easy to understand. So I will be bringing my laptop to race meetings now (not that it will make me go any faster but I will look the part).

Excellent service from DMS. Received ESC and 4.5 motor today. Changed ESC setting to profile 3 for 'off-road'. Tested in garden and seems ok. Will get a better test at Ludlow tonight.

Strobe - glad you got it nice and quick

Ashley - to answer your question about the tyres on Dannys car, they look like the old Losi 6 row step pins we used to run a few years back (they were great in the old gold compound)

Almost Darren. They were HT's old skool. They had soooooooooo much grip it was a bit daft in the final. I just managed to go round without crashing with made a change. Think they would have been perfect if i'd of taken a couple of rows off. Still i know for next time.

With regards to the speedo and the testing that ive done with it, i have to say that i really like it. As far as i can tell its a little slower that the LRP but the brakes are soooo much better which is nice for me as i like using teh brakes. Not had the chance to run the motors as of yet, hope to give them a run somewhere this weekend, so agian feel free to come and have a nose/chat if your interested.

Danny

Yer i thought the sensor lead was a bit big, its not like im running a trailer to carry the speedo around. I just took the one from my LRP speedo and stuck that in. No probs.

To fit the speedo in all i did was removed the fan, ive done a bit of running without it and i have not had any problems, im having a couple of bits made up for me so that i can run the fan and ill show you once it all arrives.

Alternativly you could always remove the fan and servo tape it to the chassis, so blowing the hot air away from the speedo. Thats what i used to do on my LRP cos i used to have trouble when running indoors

I've not had a chance to run the speedo in a 4wd as of yet, i may try one at the eden park national to see how it goes. I may have to slightly modify the shell to fit that in the xx4 as if memory serves me rightly the sphere is a bit of a squeeze with the fan on. Still im sure ill managed it somehow. again ill drop a line back on ehre once ive had the chance to test it a bit.

What are people experince with regards to the programs to use? Honestly ive not played much with it and i thought it would be good to ehar other peoples opinions

HT was just the compound that they made them in, it was harder than gold (which is harder than silver, then red, then pink, of which none of these softer sticky compounds existed "back in the day")

Used the Losi ESC last night in the S2. Not brave enough to put the 4.5 motor in. Used a Novak 6.5L Motor in stead.
Programmed in setting 3 for 'Off Road'.
Very impressed with it. Came of nice and cool after 5 mins run. Speed and brakes very good. Hardly noticed the difference between it and the Novak GTB ESC.

Was the fan left on, taken off or placed somewhere else in the car ?
