Looking at racing a B4 and a BX at next year's nationals, fedup with saloon's
. Was wondering if you run control tyres and if not what tyres (inserts) do you use and when (weather conditions) and at which tracks? sorry for all the questions

At Nationals, sure, control tyres are used- usually 2 types of tyre are chosen and you are free to choose a compound
At most tracks in the UK one tyre would be a Schumacher mini spike, the other usually a Ballistic Buggy mini spike. Places like Tiverton are different - where one American tyre is usually specced. The tyres will be listed when the National venues are decided next year. Compounds I've never personally tested the difference with different inserts - but a lot of people use what USED to be refered to as "snee blue", you can still buy these at nationals from a few different sources, not hard to find (but you cant buy them from snee any longer). Though I don't know where you'd buy them online - possibly Glyn Ward (brm motors) |

isn't there something about the shells being commercially available though?
not sure how many would have to be made for it to be deemed commercially available, but I could be wrong altogether. |

No, I was told there is no rule about commercial availability on shells at nationals- but maybe thats wrong since I did read it once.
Surely tho tricky would have lost his 2wd southport result since he was running a XXXCR shell before it was available so i think its ok.
