Default Firefox 3 - World record

Firefox is undoubtedly the only browser to use. Spend 5 minutes designing a website to find stuff works in FF but not IE, or spend 5 minutes using FF to see it's faster, safer and easier. Well you can probably tell I'm a fan at least, I use it on all my machines (XP, Vista, Fedora, SuSE, CentOS) and it rocks.

I've always used it, since the days it was called Phoenix and Firebird. Similarly I've been using Firefox 3 beta since release and it's wicked. You may wonder how they can make it better, but it's soooo much faster and crazy easy to use. People are going to love the new address bar. When the release version is done, they are going to try and break the world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours.

Here's where you can help, simply download the new version on release day. You can pledge to do so here:

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord

As you can see, Spain, Germany and Poland are beating the UK at the moment for pledges. So to existing Firefox users, please check the link, pledge to do so and download on the day. It should make history. For those that don't use FF, you are missing out.

Sorry, I know this if way off the usual topic.

Well I'm not sure about pledging but yeah you have to pull some 'tricks' to get things to work properly in IE. I always use firefox and I develop for that - it's only savages like paul rotheram using IE that let me know when a review is messed up because of dodgy formatting.

It's only as difficult as downloading a small file on release day, you know you want to really

I know your pain with IE though. I have an old XP laptop just for IE6, my Vista machine for IE7, and even they disagree with each other. It's madness!

Shouldn't that be dodgy rendering, after all there's nothing wrong with the formatting as it's handled fine by every other browser.

Well firefox 3 is here, for anyone that hasn't got it already.

It's seriously awesome. Once you start using the smart location bar you will wonder how you got on without it.
