Default The Primrose Valley RC Model week

Hi one and all, for those of you that have heard of and attend the annual Primrose Valley RC Model Week in Filey near Scarborough, then the following is just to keep you up to date with what's happening. For those of you that have not either heard of or attended the week, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING???

Just a brief, the model week takes part from 12-19th May this year and as every year takes place at the Haven Holiday site in Filey, Scarborough. It's nothing to do with Haven so any questions please direct them to the organisers, who just happen to be the same bunch of smart lads who run the Boughton Raceway.

Basically if it has wheels and is between 1/18 and 1/8, on or off road there will be a heat for you to race in. The aim of the week is fun racing during the day time, on the two back to back cliff top tracks, and a few beers in the Haven bars in the evenings, it's an RC car drivers dream people. The rostrum is being extended this year to comfortably hold 10 people and for the next point we need your opinions.

Last year we ran a Mini cup aimed at the Tamiya Mini's, which proved a hit with 3 legged finals, this year we are opening it up abit with a standard and modified class, the basic rules will be:

Standard Class:
-Any ‘Mini’ Style chassis can be used (Tamiya, HPI etc etc)
-Standard Tamiya silver can motors only.
-Standard Tamiya ESC (or price/spec equivalent esc)
-NO Chassis modifications. (ie no lengthened chassis, no pinion above 20)
-Ball races are allowed
-‘Mini’ Style/sized oil Shocks are allowed
-Standard ‘Mini’ Wheels and tyres

Modified Class:
-Any ‘Mini’ Style chassis can be used (Tamiya, HPI etc etc).
-Any motor may be used.
-Any ESC may be used
-Standard ‘Mini’ Wheels and tyres
-Any hop up is allowed.

Please give us your thoughts on the classes, would you prefer just standard or you like the idea of two classes??

Please check out the website for more details.

Hopefully all this rain now means it'll all be out of the system by May 12th and we'll have another cracking week.

Ian is busy trying to get all the team Johnson cars ready to go.

See you all there.
