Dear Yokomo lovers,
Few days ago, a friend of mine made a "master mould" of the legendary MR4BX World Edition body shell adaptable on both chassis, BX & BX World Edition. If you are a Collector or still Race driver on the BX...let us know if you are looking for a body shell. The body shell can be made of "polycarbonate" or "plastic PET". Please, if you are interesting, for pricing, delay & availability, contact Xavier Renaut at the email address below : [email protected] Thank you ![]() ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

Looks promising as I'm a bx fan but a pic of a lexan repro using the mould would be helpful to see before buying.

Is that the finished mould ? It should be primed and flatted with 800 or 1200 wet and then primed again with a much thinner primer before being flatted with 2000 wet before it's waxed, you'll get a much better finish then.

Don't worry, on the photo the mould was not "finished". But yes it was prepared as you mention

For information :
The thickness will be available in 0,75 and 1 mm. Why 0,75 or 1 mm ? Because during moulding the lexan or plastic PET is stretching because of the heat. At the end you will have a body with some zone at 0,75, 0,50mm or less. The aim is not to have bodies with weaknesses. Most of manufacturers choose this "initial" thickness for their bodies. |
