esc and speed control are the same thing, i would recommend this servo
/http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-high-performance-racing-digital-servo-high-speed-/rc-car-products/359788 and for a esc i would use this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-u...roducts/359788

It all depends what you want to do with the car & how to set it up for yourself, you may want a nice fast steering responce so need a fast servo, or if you are just bashing a semi-decent basic one may do the trick. Likewise with the speed control, it depends on how you want to do things, do you want something that will run a basic motor for now, but have the option to upgrade motor later, or do you want to go with something you can just set & forget, or something you can tinker around with to get better performance.
In my car, i have recently updated my ESC to a Nosram ISTC as i've fitted the Ansmann 6.5 Xirius pro motor & i have a Futaba S9451 SERVO in there, although if i was going to replace it i would probably look at a Savox SC1251 as it's low profile so can pack some lead weight at the back of it.

the hobbywing Xerun 60A on ebay is all you need. cheap, reliable and loads of settings. copes with a 6.5 easily if you want to go that low.

My X2C is setup as follows:
• ESC - Hobbywing 120amp (from eBay) • Motor - Trinity 7.5t (from Telstar Racing) • Servo - Savox 1256 (2nd hand from oOple) • Cells - SMC 60c saddles (again from Telstar Racing) Like Mattybucks says buy the best you can afford ![]() |

Personally i wouldn't go for the Hobbywing at 60a as it seems a bit low. By all means it's a very good speedo & it will probably run it, but if the motor demands a bit of oomph it will not be there.. remember what will do a lot will do a little & i'd always go higher than the motor demands on the ESC spec.
