Default Genny woes

Got my generator back out of the shed for the outdoor season today, put in some fuel/2stroke mix as per norm and it took a while to get it going. I gave the spark plug a good cleaning with emery paper and tried again, it started right up but as soon as I plugged in my PS,charger+cells the revs drop off and comes close to cutting out, then it trips my charger out as it isnt giving enough amps.

I've tried a new spark plug to see if the other one is duff and alas the same problem occurs. Can any one give me some advice on what to do?

Have you tried leaving it running for half hour or so without anything connected

Yeah it just carries on like it normally should, but as soon as power is being drawn it goes very sluggish then wont provide enough power for one charger!?

Have you tried cleaning the jets in the carb?
