Default RB5 motor position

As stated in my other thread, I have an original 2wd RB5. I have noticed some other RB5s have the motor in front of the rear wheels - is this a home conversion? What advantage to having the motor right at the back does this give?

Cheers,
Barry

There are 3 to chose from;

MCS (FABs on here designed that one)
Scorpion (I designed this one)
Vega

As of today I don't believe (could be wrong) that there are any MCS available new, I'm not currently planning on doing another run of Scorpions so your choice would be the Vega which seems a very good car.

Wow - so independently of Kyosho people on here have designed (and made?) these kits? Very impressive!

What's the difference between the them and what advantages does each one give over the standard?

Many thanks - this is very interesting.

Barry

Now you are going to get a different answer from everybody as it will be a preference thing.

I will say that if I had of known about the VEGA project I'd probably not have done all the design work on Scorpion and due to their ability to sell more volume (by being part of Team Extreme) than the others you are more likely to find people with a VEGA to help with setups etc.

That said the MCS is still getting great results at the very top level and I am happy with my Scorpion!

OK Roger, more generally, what advantage does moving the motor to in front of the wheels give?
