Hi,
I just finished rebuilding my Kyosho ZX5 FS1. So I took the car outside just to test drive it. The surface was tarmac, so I adjusted the slipper accordingly. The Speedo is a KO PROPO VFS-1 BMC and I've got an Orca 8.5T installed. When I attempted to steer (whilst on throttle) the centre point of my servo goes offline as it returns. This happens frequently to the extent I have to repeatedly adjust my sub-trim on the transmitter to find the centre point (I'm using a Ko Esprit 3). Obviously, this is very frustrating and I can't race! I don't get this problem with my Bmax4 however. Now, I've got a KO PROPO 2133 FET servo installed. Although I haven't had time to look into the issue in more detail, I intend to check the servo itself (which I doubt is faulty) and the attached saver. I may swap servos to check, but this is so much hassle!! Could it be that the sheer torque from my brushless motor is proving too much for the servo to handle? Or is the servo losing power? (i.e. which a capacitor issue may resolve) Any suggestions would be welcomed! |

I will second DiscoStu's theory as the exact same thing has happened to me a couple of times mid race! usually ends up with me only being able to turn in one direction
![]() im not using an FS just an RTR though but i would think the setup will be very similar. I now tend to check it before each run just to be sure! Cheers, Steve. |

Just another thing.
When I manually turn the front wheels left or right to the extremes there is some extra give not covered by the servo. Do I need to shorten my steering turnbuckles - although the toe-out config may disappear altogether. ![]() |

Never known the above on a kit built FS ... sometimes with the aftermarket steering racks though.
Check everything is as per the manual and make sure you are using a Kyosho servo horn. |
