Default 1S speedo's

Hiya,

Am in need of a new esc for my newly purchased 1/12th. I want a 1S specific esc to do away with the need for a booster.

What are the options?

LRP SXX
Hobbywing 1S - looks like a reasonably large footprint?

Anything else?

Thanks

Mark

Hobbywing fits 12th OK.

Also

Nosram Pearl SpecRacing Version 2 & Pearl ISTC Version 2
LRP SXX TC Spec

out of the above the Nosram/LRP are the easier to program and win at 12th nationals

They're both good, and arguably the easiest to use. The SXX has excellent throttle feel; if you intend to run Mod it shades the Hobbywing for me. The SXX is also smaller on the chassis and therefore fits any car. Both have built-in boosters for 1S so no need for a receiver pack or external booster. Given the choice I'd take the LRP, but the HW is almost half the price. I'd also avoid anything else as these are the speedos all the top boys use, and they do that for a reason! HTH

YEs you need to run a booster or receiver pack with the 120A, only the 1S has a built in booster. Best booster is Mark Jordan's RC Dynamics (http://rcdynamics.co.uk/index.html) which is not cheap. Our experience is that the cheap ones are not good, and the Novak Smart Boost is both expensive and not good.

If you chuck a note in the 'Wanted' column you will probably turn one up as most 12th drivers have switched to speedos with the booster built in, and have some of these sitting in their pit boxes looking for a good home! Also try this area, there are loads of 12th drivers looking at that column. HTH

What car are you using it in? Booster is for cars using a 1S cells only. I have not heard of any of these getting hot in a 1S car. HTH
