Default Fivemiletown - Saturday 10th March - Round 4

Ok!...who's coming out west for the last Round.
Would be helpful if we had a rough idea of the numbers so we can sort out tables etc for pitting. Cheers.....

Absolutely - it's all in the tyres and secondarily, the setup. See this thread for more:

But for the indoor championship are you not only allowed to use the schumacher mini spikes?

Is that what the rules say? Good point. I will say that it should be warmer and given a whole day's racing rather than an evening, minispikes are likely to work much better, but removing full spikes as an option was likely an oversimplification. I'll ask Will White about it, as it seems silly to deny use of the most common tyre for Fivemiletown.

To clear things up about tyres, this is what is allowed and not allowed....

Control Tyres:
Controlled rear tyre only: Schumacher Mini-spike or Schumacher Full Spike (also known as 4x20 spikes)
Any compound permitted. Schumacher Minipins are not permitted at these events.

The orginal rules state schumacher mini spikes or full spikes. Only type not allowed are the mini pin.

I plan to be there. And 2wd on polished wood is the ultimate class to demonstrate your car control.

+1 - I've been running a 2wd there for the last few weeks to get some practice, and I consistently made the B final.

It'll be even more fun in the mod class - Will White had a 6.5T in his CR2 last year and was quick enough to have put his 2wd on the podium...in the 4wd class!

However, the floor needs a thorough clean, there's oil on it - it was undrivable last time I was there. Hope to have a 4wd ready for tomorrow night.

I've put a 2wd within 2 laps of the 4wd pole time, they are surprisingly quick on polished wood, just a bit harder to drive!
